ROYAL HARARE GOLF CLUB MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

 

CATEGORIES OF MEMBERSHIP:
 

1.          Membership:

The Membership of the Club consists of various categories defined below:
 
1.1        Full/Eminent Member (Men and Ladies)
They will pay the full fee including all green fees and have playing rights to the course at any time.  Each will have one vote at a General Meeting. Eminent Membership is extended to the staff of foreign Embassies in Zimbabwe.
 
1.2        Limited Member (Men and Ladies)
They will have a handicap and will be affiliated to golf unions. They will be entitled to play Monday a.m., and Tuesday a.m. and p.m.  Wednesday a.m., Thursday a.m. and p.m., Friday a.m. and p.m., Saturday pm and Sunday a.m. and p.m., with no green fee charged.  They will have no vote at a General Meeting.  They will be unable to play on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday morning without paying a green fee.
 
1.3        Senior Members (Men and Ladies)
They will have a handicap and they will be entitled to play on Monday a.m. and p.m., Tuesday a.m. and p.m., Wednesday a.m., Thursday a.m. as well as Friday a.m. and Saturday p.m. with no green fee charged.  Classification for this Membership is sixty years of age and five years golfing Membership of the Club.  They will have no vote at a General Meeting.
 
1.4        Service Member (Men and Ladies)
Qualification - sixty-five years of age and twenty years of service as a golfing member.  They will be entitled to play golf any day of the week excluding Wednesday p.m. and Saturday a.m when a green fee will be payable.  They will have no vote at a General Meeting.
 
1.5        Junior/Student Member (Men and Ladies)
They will be entitled to play golf any day of the week excluding Wednesday afternoons and Saturday all day unless the approval has been given by the Golf Committee.  The age limit for junior Membership is eighteen years or non-university.  The same fee will be charged for a student up to the age of twenty-five years on the production of a valid student card.  They will have a handicap and will be affiliated to golf unions.  They will have no vote at a General Meeting.
 
1.6        House Member (Men and Ladies)
They will not have any playing rights and will not have a vote at a General Meeting.  They will have access to the clubhouse facilities.  They will pay a green fee determined by the Golf Committee.
 
1.7        Out of Country Members (Men and Ladies)
They will have no playing rights and will pay the full affiliated member green fee.  They will have no vote at a General Meeting.
 
1.8        Honorary Member (Men and Ladies)
They will be entitled to play on Monday and Tuesday all day, Wednesday a.m. Thursday a.m. and Friday a.m.  The subscription will include all green fees.  They will have no vote at a General Meeting.  They will have a handicap and will be affiliated to golf unions. Honorary Membership is extended to Ministers of the Church.
 
1.9      Life Member
Life Membership will be conferred upon a member who has rendered meritorious service to the Club.  The nomination for Life Membership must be approved by the Board of Management.  A Life Member will have a vote at a General Meeting.
 
1.10      Professional Golfing Membership
They will pay the full member fees including green fees and have playing rights on the course at any time.  They will not pay affiliation levies to the amateur golfing bodies, will have a handicap and will not be allowed to participate in club competitions.  They will have no vote at a General Meeting.
 
1.11      Family Member
The husband will pay the full fee in the category that he chooses.  The wife and children will pay 50% of the subscription of their category’s choice.  Once the children are eligible for full or limited Membership they will no longer be entitled to the discount.
 
1.12     Corporate Membership
Subject to meeting all the other criteria for Membership of the Club, there shall be a special category of Membership called Corporate Membership, which will be determined by the Board at its own discretion under the terms and conditions commensurate with benefits which shall accrue there from.
 
1.13       Pre-Paid LIMITED18, LIMITED24, LIMITED32  and LIMITED48
Members in these categories have full playing rights – tee time availability permitting
These are Fully Pre-Paid services offering either 18 rounds 30 rounds or 48 rounds in a membership year. Half rounds are also permitted
LIMITED18 - 18 rounds of golf –  paid fully in advance 
LIMITED24 – 24 rounds of golf – paid in advance or quarterly        
LIMITED32 - 32 rounds of golf –  paid in advance or quarterly
LIMITED48 - 48 rounds of golf -  paid in advance or quarterly for members aged 26 to 39 years of age ONLY. Family discount applies for husband and wife joining together, and children under 18 join for free and also get 48 rounds each. On reaching the age of 19 student members will move to a full fee paying category.

Members in all of these categories will pay relevant affiliation fees and be entitled to a handicap
Rounds must be used up in a single membership year which runs from 1st March to end of February annually.
Members can determine which pre-paid bundle best suits their budget and can get the most benefit out of their golf membership at Royal Harare Golf Club. Once pre-paid rounds have been exhausted, an affiliate green fee will be charged 

1.14      New Senior Members (Men and Ladies)
Will have a handicap and they will be entitled to play on Monday a.m. and p.m., Tuesday a.m. and
p.m., Wednesday a.m., Thursday a.m. as well as Friday a.m. and Saturday p.m. with no green
fee charged.  Classification for this Membership is sixty years of age. They will have no  
vote at a General Meeting.

2.    Applications for Membership

2.1        Application Form
A candidate for Membership shall complete the Club’s official application form, which shall then be signed by the candidate’s proposer and seconder, who must know the candidate personally. Eminent or Honorary Membership applicants will still complete the official application form, however, there is no requirement for a proposer or seconder.

2.2        Proposer and Seconder
Both the proposer and seconder: must be or have been Full Members of good standing for at least three years and; 
                      
2.2.3     shall not be an Officer of the Club or a member of the Board or Golf Committee.

2.3        House Candidates
In the case of House Candidates, the proposer and seconder shall be Full Members in good standing for at least three years.

 2.4        Lady Candidates
The Committee of the Lady’s Section shall examine applications by Lady Candidates, and that Committee shall make a recommendation to the Golf Committee.
